Imagine, how dusty the disciples’ feet would be, wearing sandals and walking the hard-packed dirt pathways and roads. Now, imagine with me, Yeshua (Jesus) kneeling before His disciples and washing their dirty feet. He knew His most difficult hour was coming soon and that these guys would abandon Him. Yet still He demonstrated His love for them and His humility.
But, that’s not the most amazing part! What is even more amazing is the fact that He treated Judas the same as everyone else even though He knew he would betray Him in a matter of hours.
What incredible strength of character Yeshua must have had. Ask yourself if you would wash the dirty feet of the man who was about to betray you, leading to your excruciating death. That’s a tough one, isn’t it? But our Lord wants us to emulate Christ. He gives us the strength to do anything we put our minds to. I believe Yeshua forgave Judas even before Judas betrayed Him.
Be encouraged that Philippians 4:13 says, “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
